AMERICAN SAMOA is an „unincorporated” territory of the USA. It lies close to Western Samoa in the Pacific Ocean and comprises five main volcanic islands and two coral atolls.

The bulk of the population lives on the islands of Tutuila and Ta’u. The five main islands are hilly and for the most part, covered in thick forest or bush, and the climate is tropical with lots of rain. The chief exports are canned tuna, pet foods, watches, and handicrafts.
