A map of the world’s happiest countries

The UK is the 15th happiest country in the world, according to an international report.

The World Happiness Report 2016-2020, which surveyed 157 countries, aims “to survey the scientific underpinnings of measuring and understanding subjective well-being”.

It employs polling data on happiness and critical economic, health, and development markers and analysis from experts across fields, including economics, psychology, survey analysis, national statistics, health, and public policy.

The best and worst countries in the world for making friends

We might not be as friendly to ex-pat families as we’d like to think.

In a ranking of 67 countries worldwide for “Ease of settling in”, the UK ranked 42nd for Friendliness and 43rd for “Finding Friends”.

This is according to the Expat Insider 2016 index by InterNations, which surveyed more than 14,000 respondents.

The UK ranked 33rd on the index of 191 countries overall.
